When and Where

The course takes place every Tuesday, 10.05 - 11.35 in lecture hall 024, Building E1 4. There is no lecture from 22 December 2008 to 2nd January 2009.

Content

The contents of the lecture are, among others:

Standard C development tools: compiler, make, debugger, etc.
C do's and dont's
Writing portable code
Efficient data structures
C software engineering
Debugging in C
Memory Management
Know the compiler: write code that can be optimized well by the compiler
Advanced tools (valgrind, jam, and others) and how they work

Prerequisites

Knowledge and Basic Programming Experience in C.

Examinations

You are permitted to take part in the exam if you get at least 50% of the regular points in the exercises. You can get Bonuspoints for different tasks that help you to accomplish this goal.

Grading

You must pass one of the exams to get a certificate.

Certificates are now available and can be collected at Jennifer Müller's office (MPI, Building E1 4, Room 602).
